400 g Cooked Chicken
350 ml Chicken Stock
2 tbsp Flour
150 ml Cream
1 large Onion
300 g Broccoli
1 tsp English Mustard
1 large Egg
for dusting Flour

170 g Cold Butter
1 tbsp Balsamic Vinegar
2 tbsp Ice Cold Water
1 tsp Sea Salt
1 Egg

Chicken Pot Pie is a complete meal full of flavors yummy pie, one of my most favorite with veggies & chicken & crispy pastry crust.

Steps

Put some flour in a bowl and add some really cold butter in it

Use a pastry blender to mix this up if you don't have, then you can use two knives and just cut the butter in flour until you have nice crumbly bits of butter

Crack egg in another bowl and add balsamic vinegar it adds that savory flavor and add some black pepper a pinch of sea salt also add a tiny tablespoon of ice cold water, give it all a good mix up.

After mixing up, pour it straight into the center of butter and flour using two forks, toss this in that liquid

Just press it together with your hands very lighty and then turn it out onto the surface and press it together until dough comes together

Wrap it up in cling film and get into the fridge for 30 min.

Chicken Filling

Melt butter in a frying pan, add a tiny pinch of sea salt black pepper, add sliced onion mixture and melt it down until white sauce on top of bubbling butter

Add some flour and add chicken stock slowly until we've nice thick sauce

Turn down the heat and add cream and add a heaped tsp of English mustard, stir it further for few minutes

Add some steamed 1 head of broccoli, broken into florets (about 300g) just steamed until it's nice and tender and add cooked chicken in it give it all a good mix till it's nicely combined

Transfer all that mixture into a baking dish

Unwrap the pastry from cling film and sprinkle tiny touch of flour on it over both sides and then just press this for about half a centimeter to a centimeter

Brush the edges of pie dish with beaten egg, make sure your pastry sticks to the tip

Carefully put the pastry on top of pie, press slightly into the edges and cut of the edges using a knife according to bowl

Brush it with a little bit of egg white

Cook it off for 25 minutes in oven until the pastry top go crisp and golden.
