Turron de Navidad is almond nougat candy that is made of three ingredients i.e. egg whites, raw honey and roasted almonds. The dish is of Moorish origin and was first made 500 years ago in small town of Jijona in Spain. The area was known for its abundance in natural honey which is prime ingredient in making Turron. There are two kind of Turron. One is hard Alicante or better known as Turron Duro that is thick almond candy and other is Soft Jijona also known as Turron Blando which gives taste of smooth peanut butter.

First take egg whites and beat them to form meringue .Then mix it with warm honey.Together it is brought to heat and stirred on a pan until it gets thick caramel candy look

The cooking can take 20 minutes as once caramel thick candy is made, add roasted almonds and poured into a shape jar to cool and put aside to become hard

The candy once cooled can be sliced served with anything.
