Poppy Seed Coffee Cake cake tastes very different and unique because of the presence of poppy seeds. It uses gluten-free flour, which means that gluten intolerant people can enjoy the cake, too. The cake is very soft and perfect if served with hot coffee. It is best served when still warm.

Preheat your oven to 350 degree Fahrenheit

Use butter or a little oil to grease a baking pan. The size of the pan should be about 10 inches

Take a bowl and add flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and xanthum gum. Mix these ingredients well. You can whisk them together with a fork

Now add the poppy seeds and stir it all together. The poppy seeds are important because they add a unique flavor to this dish

In another bowl, add the butter and sugar and mix them together using an electric mixer. Use medium speed for this purpose. Beat the two ingredients for about 3 minutes. In this time the mixture will become fluffy. Scrape down the sides of the bowl

Add the three eggs on at a time.Between each addition, you should beat the mixture with the electric mixer. Again scrape down the sides of the bowl

After this, you have to add the gluten free flour and the buttermilk in a particular pattern. First, add a bit of flour and stir the mixture. Then add a little buttermilk and stir again until combined. Keep doing this till all the flour and buttermilk have been incorporated in the mixture.
