Luscious Eggnog Recipe

Try this Luscious Eggnog delicious eggnog. Before serving, keep the bowl of eggnog in a bowl of ice to keep it well chilled!

  1. In a saucepan, combine lightly beaten eggs, white sugar, and salt, and gradually stir in milk.
  2. Stirring constantly, cook for about 10 to 15 minutes over medium heat, until mixture coats a metal spoon. Remove from heat, and stir in 1 teaspoon vanilla extract.
  3. Place saucepan over ice water until cools, and refrigerate until chilled.
  4. Combine heavy cream, confectioners' sugar, and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract in a chilled bowl. Beat until stiff peaks form.
  5. Stir in rum and yellow food coloring.
  6. Fold whipped cream mixture into the cooled custard and pour into serving bowl, sprinkle with nutmeg.
  7. Serve immediately in a serving dish.
