Green Chile Chicken Enchilada Casserole is all-time favorite dish of my family. When I cooked it first time, my mother appreciated me. If you want to skip charring step, simply tear the tortillas into fourths so they absorb the sauce better.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F

Skinless, boneless chicken breast halves with garlic and arrange in the baking dish

Bake for about 45 minutes. Cool, shred and keep it aside

With metal tongs, heat each tortilla over the open flame of a gas stove burner for one minute until puffed lightly

Pour ½ inch 1 can Or 28 oz of green Chile enchilada sauce in the bottom of baking dish and arrange 6 tortillas in a single layer

Top this layering with ½ the chicken, 1/3 of (1 package Or 16 oz) of Monterey Jack Cheese, ½ the reduced fat sour cream and 1/3 of the remaining enchilada sauce

Repeat this process and at the end sprinkle with remaining cheese and enchilada sauce Cover and bake it for 45 minutes
