Baklava is rich sweetened fudge which has layers of nuts and honey. It originates from Middle East and mostly liked by native people. Due to its popularity baklava is well recognized by West Asian people. People make this dish on special festivals and share with their friends and family.

Butter the bottom and four sides of the baking dish and preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit

Mix the ground cinnamon and mixed chopped nuts together and cover the bottom of dish with 1 pound (16 ounce) of phyllo sheets. Brush the sheets with melted butter

Sprinkle the nuts mixture on the top of phyllo sheets and make 6 layers of phyllo sheets containing all ingredients with each layer

Cut the baklava into small diagonal pieces or square and bake it for 50 minutes to get a golden and crispy touch

For making baklava syrup, boil the water and white sugar over medium heat and add honey, vanilla and grated lemon zest after all the sugar gets dissolved. Remove it from flame after 20 minutes

Meanwhile baklava gets ready. Take it out from oven and dollop the syrup on baklava. Cool it for some time before serving.
